Good, I promise to do the same.

[Where to begin. It was easier with Venti, who had already known who Kaeya was just by looking at him. Hell, this felt easier with Diluc despite what the aftermath was. He shook his head.]

As you already surmised, I am from Khaenri'ah. One of the few remaining from that place, although I have no idea how many remain now. The rest have long since become a part of the Abyss Order, likely through the curse that helped destroy the last dynasty. [Now came the tough part... he sighed heavily, clearing his thoughts.] I was planted in Mondstadt. The Ragnvindrs found me and raised me as one of their own, but it was no accident that they found a lost little boy in the woods. My father left me there as "the last hope" of Khaenri'ah. To infiltrate Mondstadt in order to help bring revenge for what happened during the cataclysm.

And no, Diluc and his father didn't know at the time. Diluc's father sadly never knew, I only told Diluc after our father passed and, as you can now guess, it's why we were at each other's throats.

I never heard from my actual father or anyone from Khaenri'ah since I was put in Mondstadt and eventually came to love and protect Mondstadt as if I were a native of the place. [He leaned back on his hands again, looking up at the starry night sky.] And I suppose in the end, it didn't matter. I'd heard that something had renewed the Abyss Order's vigor for revenge. I just never knew what and it wasn't like they were willing to tell me despite my obvious Khaenri'ahn looks. Considering I'm part of the Knights, it's likely they think I've turned traitor to them. If your sister is somehow leading them, then yes, it does explain a few things. Not everything, but...

[He turned to Aether, eyebrows raised in question and a small shrug.]

So, now you know. I'm a traitor to two nations and in the end, I'll have a choice to make now that your sister is apparently moving forward with whatever plans the Order has. Whenever it comes to fruition, anyway. [He laughed humorlessly.] I'll understand if you don't trust me anymore. Diluc certainly doesn't, although I appreciate that he hasn't told Jean and the others and if you don't mind, I'd like to keep it that way.
